The End Of Summer

I have heard it said that today is the last day wives get work out of husbands, but a Mothers work is never done...

We spent the weekend with the Northern California Crew and Mom helped pot the plants in the front yard of the kids new house. And, surprisingly enough, no towels were taken hostage... Yet.

All work and no play makes Little Miss a dull girl, so off to play.

One First Class Ticket, Please...

Pardon me boy,
Is that the Guilt Laden Choo Choo?

Yes, yes, track 29!
Boy, you can give me a shine....

Can you afford to board
The Guilt Laden Choo Choo?

I've got my fare.
And just a trifle to spare....

The day started like this:

Proceeded to:

And ended like this:

All that for the ridiculously low price of my soul.
(HA! Try that Guilt Trip on for size.)

Okay, it needs another coat of paint but that should be good for another OCH somewhere down the tracks.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…

When in Texas awhile back we paid a visit to Dale and Marti's. Marti is so organized that not only does she manage perfect vacuum tracks but has things clearly and cleverly labeled.

Well, it seems that there is now a third thing to come out of Texas; Organization!

Now that the refrigerator is clearly marked I can only think of one thing left to do: Buy stock in P-Touch labels... I shudder to think what's next.
After the bed gets painted blue, of course...

It's the little things in life...

I spent part of my weekend at the El Capitan Theatre, our flagship theatre in Hollywood, making sure the Guests received the technically perfect performance they have come to expect for the opening of UP.

I made some reference to this on my Facebook page and a friend of mine commented that I needed to "translate UP".

I saw a buddy who works in Disney's Marketing department today, and said "You missed one..." All I got was the same 'What Are You Talking About' look that only I seem to get, oh, so often.

The look on his face when I explained that there was actually a living, breathing human being on this planet who had not heard of UP...

I know it's a character flaw, but there is something about seeing a grown man cry...

You made my day, JV! I'll buy you dinner next time I get to Dallas!

All Good Things Must End

And it's too darn bad. It was good to have all "The Girls" around the table again. It reminded me of how very blessed I have been these last ten years.

And now there is a whole new generation for me to corrupt...

Okay, I'm a little wierd..

Anyone traveling to Asia should come home with pictures. Mine just happen to be of bakeries....

I stood in rapt fascination watching this young baker in Tokyo as he made baguettes so naturally I had to buy one and see if it tasted as good as it looked.

WOW. I went back and bought several more...

Then there was the Boulangerie in Hong Kong...

I gotta go order another hundred pounds of flour....

Why God Created California

So people like me don't have to live in places like Arkansas. I like to see what I breathe, not see my breath. Twenty freaking degrees with 42% humidity is not where I long to stay. Good thing I leave Wal-Mart-Ville on Friday and return to loved ones and civilization.

I wonder what color the walls will be when I get home?

No... Really???

It sure as $%#@ looked easier on HGTV was the direct quote. And not mine either.

I hate cable TV. I'm gonna pull the plug on it one of these days....
