A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Hotel

This isn't the type of post I usually make but something has moved me to.

After dinner tonight I was walking back to my hotel when a clean cut young man sitting on a crate holding a sign caught my eye. His sign said he was a Iraq Veteran, homeless and had been on job interviews with no offers of employment. Anything helps. His military ID was proudly displayed as well. I can walk by these situations with the best of them but something made me turn around and press a bill into his hand. His eyes teared up as he said "Bless you, friend". All I could say was "Thank you for your service".

With Memorial Day just around the corner, please, let us not only remember our fallen heros who have paid the ultimate price but extend a helping hand to those who now fight a different fight and are paying a different price for freedom.

God Bless America.
